PRESIDENT MESSAGE
I am pleased to advise that the new Council elected in the 12th AGM held on 19 August 2008 has proposed a number of new initiatives as follow:
  1. An Innovative Award is to be organized. The award is to be presented in the Annual Dinner scheduled in May 2009.

  2. Implementation of Mediation services to our members. A list of accredited Mediator is to be established. Appropriate training course to our members to become an accredited Mediator will be arranged with experts in this field.

  3. A new E &M discipline is to be formed.
The Council has also resolved to start the first step this year by considering various ways to put forward a Private Bill to the Government for the proper recognition of the Institute. This is a momentous decision. It is understood that it will be a long and tough road ahead and the process may take a number of years.

The Council is also actively considering the set up of a registration system to those suitable members to be called ¡§Registered Professional Construction Manager¡¨. Details have yet to be worked out. Constitution may need to be amended in an EGM/AGM.
