Statement of HKICM Council on the《Fugitive Offenders and Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters Legislation (Amendment) Bill 2019》
The Council of Hong Kong Institute of Construction Managers has deep concern over the incidents arising from the recent anti-extradition protest against the《Fugitive Offenders and Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters (Amendment) Bill 2019》. As a professional institution helping to build Hong Kong, we are pleased to see that Hong Kong's construction and legal system are getting better and better. As a pluralistic society, we sincerely urge the Government to listen and fully consider the concerns of all sectors of the community to improve the legal provisions and related mechanisms.
We are deeply saddened by the riots caused yesterday and the destruction of the order in Hong Kong. We hope that all parties can solve the problem in a peaceful and rational way.
