Invitation for Participating in the 2009 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence

SECTORAL AWARDS

I am writing to invite your organization to join the quest to be the winners of the prestigious Sectoral Awards of the 2009 Hong Kong Awards forEnvironmental Excellence (HKAEE) - Retailers Sector.

Background

The HKAEE is a merger and an extension of three very successful government-initiated schemes, namely the Hong Kong Eco-Business Awards, Wastewi$e Scheme and Hong Kong Energy Efficiency Awards, with a view to creating a prestigious scheme covering a wider scope of environmental recognition in Hong Kong. Organized by the Environmental Campaign Committee and other ten organizations, the HKAEE has been quickly and widely recognized by the community as one of the most prestigious and reputable award schemes in Hong Kong. Hong Kong Productivity Council is one of the co-organizers and is the Technical Consultant responsible for the implementation of the HKAEE.

2009 HKAEE

The 2009 HKAEE has three streams. Apart from the Environmental Labels and the newly introduced Carbon“Less” Certificates, the Sectoral Awards are specially created to grant awards to those organizations which have demonstrated an all-round environmental performance in respective sectors. For each sector, Gold, Silver, Bronze, SME awards as well as Certificates of Merit will be presented to winning organizations.

Benefits

The winning organizations of the Sectoral Awards will be invited to join a prestigious ceremony to receive the awards. They will also be entitled to use the HKAEE Award logo for promotional and publicity purposes, and will have the opportunities to share the green achievements at public events and receive extensive media coverage. Finalists will also receive a complimentary report prepared by the award assessors.

Application

Participation in the Sectoral Awards is free of charge and the application deadline is on 30 June 2009. Your organization is cordially invited to participate in the Sectoral Awards to share your environmental achievements and commitment with the community.
